In that endeavor, CIPL collaborates with research institutions and companies to utilize the best available technologies in developing new products and services. Thus, strategic alliances with external partners play an essential role in CIPL's research and development.

As a complement to new product development, CIPL, identifies and collaborates to acquire or access strategic assets, such as new products, industrial capacity/assets, etc. and coordinates a full spectrum of third party relationships from licenses, partnerships, alliances and joint ventures to equity participation and even acquisitions. Each opportunity is evaluated by a multi-functional team including technical and commercial
expertise.

Principle Selection Criteria

• The product or idea should have a strong intellectual property (IP) protection.
• It should be of global interest: Europe, North and South America, Asia.
• Usually contacts are small or medium chemical companies, research institutions or academia.
• Establish collaborations early rather than late in the development programs.
• Ability to clearly establish the respective responsibilities.

CIPL strongly believes in 'win-win' collaborations with benefits accruing to both parties in an equitable fashion. Products from outside collaborations are fully integrated into CIPL's research development and marketing processes.
